Bank of England holds rates at 0.5%

Steady as she goes.

The Bank of England has held UK interest rates at a record low of 0.5% for the 19th consecutive month.

The European Central Bank (ECB) has kept interest rates on hold at 1% as was widely expected. It is the 17th consecutive month the rate has stayed at the record low.
